Rule 28
Management of Infectious Diseases

(1) If a patient with an infectious disease is identified, the concerned person shall immediately inform the relevant local level, state government or ministry.
(2) Sub-rule (1). According to the information. If it is not possible for the prevention of infectious diseases from the concerned state government or local level, the ministry should immediately set up a second response team to control the disease.
(3) For the prevention of infectious diseases, the concerned government may do the following:-
(a) To mobilize health institutions and health workers,
(b) to designate a separate dedicated hospital for the treatment of infectious diseases,
(c) to use public buildings and places,
(d) to investigate the illness of a person who has or is suspected of having an infectious disease,
(e) to collect or destroy specimens from sources of infection,
(f) to vaccinate and provide other treatment to infected persons, (g) to quarantine persons likely to be infected,
(h) To undergo isolation treatment in a particular place for a specified period of time.
(4) In the case of clauses (d), (e), (f), (g) and (h) of sub-rule (3), the informed consent of the concerned person is not required as per rule 7.
(5) The nature, symptoms, prevention and control of infectious disease outbreaks and other necessary information shall be communicated by the ministry, the relevant provincial government and the local level by publishing public notices from time to time.
(6) To prevent, control and manage infectious diseases - the Ministry, the concerned provincial government or the local level may publish public notices and issue orders as necessary and it shall be the duty of all concerned to comply with such orders.
(7) In order to prevent health workers and employees from getting infected during treatment or from getting infected due to any other reason, the head of the relevant organization in the case of government health institutions and the manager in the case of other health institutions should adopt the following measures:-
(a) Health workers and patientsAll employees who come into contact should be given the necessary vaccinations to prevent the spread of disease (b) The person who collects and tests biological samples of infectious diseases must adopt infection prevention and control measures,
(c) providing radiation shielding materials and structures to personnel working on irradiated equipment,
(d) Pregnant health workers should not be exposed to radiation and any specific infectious or risky work,
(e) arranging personal protective equipment and any special measures to protect employees from any particular infection or risk.
